haiwang zhong (ieee member, ieee pes member, iet member) received his b.e. and ph.d. degrees from tsinghua university, china in 2008 and 2013 respectively. he was selected into the 2017-2019 china association for science and technology young talent promotion project. he was a research assistant in texas a&m university from aug. 2011 to aug. 2012 and a visiting scholar in virginia tech from sept. 2014 to nov. 2014. he is currently working as an associate professor at department of electrical engineering, tsinghua university. his research interests include: energy internet, smart grid, electricity market, power system operations, demand response, and renewable energy. in recent years, 100 papers have been published in journals and conferences, more than 60 papers are included in sci and three of these papers is selected as esi (essential science indicators) mostly cited paper top 1%. he published a monograph in english, obtained 2 patents in the united states, 1 patent in hong kong, 13 national invention patents and 10 software 九游会平台 copyrights. he conducts 2 chinese national natural science foundation (nsfc) projects(one of them is evaluated excellent), 1 natural science foundation of beijing and several industrial projects. he worked as the key member in 1 chinese national 863 project, 1 chinese national science and technology support program project , 1 key program of national natural science foundation of china and 1 joint key fund of nsfc-state grid. as the main developer, he has designed and implemented smart grid scheduling software for 10 provincial power grid companies in china, which solves the problem of combination explosion in energy-saving power generation dispatching. he received the prosper.net-scopus young scientist award in 2014. he was awarded outstanding postdoctoral fellow of tsinghua university and the 2018 outstanding young energy researcher award of china energy research association (30 youngsters under 40 years old were selected nationwide). he was awarded 4 provincial science & technology awards(among them, 2 first prizes, ranking the 2nd and 3rd;a second prize, ranked the second). he won the gold medal in 44th geneva international invention exhibition in 2016.

he serves as the chair of the demand response working group under the ieee pes power system operations, planning and economics committee (psope) committee. he serves as subcommittee secretary of ieee smart building load & customers, secretary of big data applications in power distribution systems working group, and secretary of cigre d2.53 power physical network working group. he serves as the editor of international transactions on electrical energy systems, proceedings of the chinese society for electrical engineering , csee journal of power and energy systems , journal of modern power systems and clean energy. he is a member of the young academic committee member of power system protection and control journal.

he serves as the reviewer of several journals, such as ieee trans. power systems, ieee trans. smart grid, ieee trans. sustainable energy, iet generation transmission & distribution. he is also the reviewer of many chinese journals, such as proceedings of the chinese society for electrical engineering, automation of electric power systems, power system technology.
