on the afternoon of may 15, qiu yong, secretary of the party committee of tsinghua university, met with the delegation from tbea co., ltd. (referred to as “tbea”), led by secretary of the party committee and chairman zhang xin, in the east hall of gongzi hall. both parties engaged in discussions to further deepen the university-industry collaboration and signed a special cooperation agreement on “key technologies for energy and power equipment” for the deep integration of industry, academia, and research. xu qinghong, deputy secretary of the party committee of tsinghua university, and huang hanjie, a member of the party committee and president of tbea, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective parties.

qiu yong expressed gratitude on behalf of the university for tbea’s strong emphasis on university-industry collaboration. he mentioned that tsinghua university is committed to thoroughly studying and implementing the important speeches and instructions of president xi jinping, continuously deepening reforms, driving development through innovation, and actively serving national strategies and regional development. looking ahead, he hopes both parties will build upon their excellent past cooperation to further enhance collaborative innovation across industry, academia, and research, thereby providing strong support for achieving high-level technological self-reliance. the university will continue to increase efforts in talent development, support the educational development, technological innovation, and talent training in western china through close collaboration, and contribute to the new chapter of the western development program.

zhang xin reviewed the significant progress made in recent collaborations and expressed gratitude for tsinghua university’s support for tbea. he emphasized that tbea remains committed to president xi jinping’s earnest expectations, leveraging its geographical advantages, industrial foundation, and resource endowments to vigorously promote technological innovation and development. tbea is eager to strengthen cooperation with tsinghua university in collaborative innovation across industry, academia, and research, tackling key core technologies, converting scientific achievements, and cultivating innovative talent, all to meet national strategic needs and contribute to building a manufacturing powerhouse.

following the discussion, zhang xin and his delegation visited the department of electrical engineering and applied electronics (eea) for further exchanges. both parties discussed in-depth the comprehensive technological innovation cooperation and high-level talent training under the framework of the “key technologies for energy and power equipment” industry-academia-research integration agreement. the areas of cooperation include stable operation of new energy power stations and equipment, flexible dc transmission equipment, and low-carbon and environmentally friendly electrical materials.
