on january 15, the postdoctoral mobile station of the department of electrical engineering
and applied electronics
successfully held the third session of the postdoctoral salon in room 3-102 of the west main building. in order to better promote the application for the national natural science foundation of china (referred to as nsfc), this salon invited three outstanding postdoctoral fellows, ran zhaoyu, zheng kedi, and zheng dayong, to share their experiences in successfully applying for nsfc and postdoctoral funds. more than 40 postdoctoral fellows attended the event.
ran zhaoyu’s presentation
dr. ran zhaoyu detailed the application process for nsfc, shared commonly used fund search databases, explained key points to note when filling out nsfc information, and systematically introduced the content and logic of writing nsfc project proposals.
zheng kedi’s presentation
dr. zheng kedi used “dynamic capacity assessment and bidding decision method for virtual power plants in the electricity-auxiliary service market” as an example. he elaborated on the relationship and key points between various parts of the project proposal, including project name, keywords, abstract, scientific problem attributes, and selection reasons. he emphasized the importance of diagrams in the application and the techniques for drawing them.
zheng dayong’s presentation
dr. zheng dayong shared how to improve the quality of project proposals by starting from engineering problems and leveraging the characteristics and advantages of interdisciplinary studies. finally, he shared his experience in applying for projects and discussed potential reasons for project proposal rejection.
at the meeting
after the meeting, the postdoctoral fellows engaged in exchanging experiences, expressing that the salon played a positive guiding role in applying for nsfc funds and provided valuable experience references for postdoctoral fellows applying for various research projects and topics.
