was elected as the vice chair of ieee tec, with a term from january 2024 to december 2025.
ieee tec, established in january 2024 following an upgrade from the ieee transportation electrification community, is responsible for coordinating ieee’s activities in the electrification revolution within the transportation sector. this includes activities related to electric and hybrid vehicles, electrification of maritime and aviation transportation, railway systems, as well as electric drives, energy storage, power systems, smart electronics, and control technologies. it also provides leadership development, professional skill enhancement, and standardization opportunities for practitioners, researchers, students, and ieee members in this field.
associate professor zheng zedong is one of the six newly elected vice chairs, mainly responsible for membership and local organization development.
brief introduction of associate professor zheng zedong: he is a tenured associate professor in the department of electrical engineering and applied electronics at tsinghua university, holding the distinguished name title of “associate professor endowed by zhang mingtao”. he has long been committed to research in power electronics technology, high-performance motor control technology, and electrification transportation technology. he has been awarded the title of young talent by the ministry of education and the outstanding young award by the chinese society of power engineering. associate professor zheng zedong also serves as the chair of the transportation electrification technical committee of the ieee industrial electronics society (ies) and the vice chairman of the transportation electrification committee of the chinese society of power engineering.
