in order to implement the major decisions and arrangements of the central committee of the communist party of china and the state council, further improve the carbon efficiency of comprehensive energy efficiency in the industrial sector, and promote the optimization of energy resource allocation, the first national ecological day, august 15, 2023, saw the successful hosting of the “2023 industrial comprehensive energy efficiency conference” at beijing western suburb hotel. the conference was jointly organized by tsinghua energy internet innovation institute and china industrial energy conservation and clean production association. it was also supported by the special committee on comprehensive energy systems of china industrial energy conservation and clean production association, the special committee on industrial carbon efficiency of china industrial energy conservation and clean production association, and the national energy internet industry and technology innovation alliance. co-organizers included tsinghua national governance and global governance research institute, the department of electrical engineering and applied electronics at tsinghua university, and tsinghua sichuan energy internet research institute.

in his opening remarks, zhi hui, secretary-general of china industrial energy conservation and clean production association, welcomed the experts and business representatives attending the conference on behalf of president wang xiaokang. he emphasized the need for a shift in the work of industrial energy conservation and efficiency towards energy low-carbonization, systematic energy efficiency in the entire process, and refined management. to fully implement the party’s requirements for promoting green, low-carbon, and high-quality development, efforts must be made to improve industrial comprehensive energy efficiency and carbon efficiency. zhi hui encouraged everyone to establish long-term and close cooperation in various aspects, including technological innovation, technology promotion, standard development, dual carbon initiatives, and financial services, to contribute to the green, low-carbon, and high-quality development of industrial enterprises.
