certificate of cigre ph.d. thesis award

xu luo studied under professor guo qinglai in eea. his doctoral thesis was entitled “integrated analysis for cyber-physical power systems considering the impact of communication networks”. currently, only one winner is selected globally for this award each year, and xu luo is the fifth winner of this award since its inception in 2018.

cigre, founded in 1921, is a non-governmental and non-profit international organization headquartered in france. it currently has more than 15,000 members from 98 countries and regions and is recognized as one of the most important global organizations covering many fields of power system technology, economics, environment, organization and management. it has made significant contributions to power system research, development and standardization.

cigre announced the award in its bi-monthly official magazine electra, praising dr. xu luo’s ph.d. thesis for solving several key problems in digital power systems, including integrated modeling, collaborative optimization, and stability analysis, extending the analysis and optimization methods of traditional power systems, and building a bridge for integrated analysis of power and communication.

the cyber-physical power safety analysis and regulation system developed on the basis of the research result of dr. xu luo’s doctoral thesis is applied to many power grid companies in china, including state grid southwest branch and guangdong power grid, etc.
