on august 24, the 16th forum of chinese inventors and the ceremony for the 12th invention and entrepreneurship award · award for individuals were held simultaneously in beijing, shijiazhuang and zhangjiakou in an online and offline form. the chinese invention association announced the list of winners of the 12th “invention and entrepreneurship award” in 2021. professor zhao zhengming of the department of electrical engineering and applied electronics (eea) of tsinghua university won the award, and zhao zhengming was also granted the honorary title of “contemporary inventor”.

zhao zhengming, professor and doctoral supervisor of the department of electrical engineering and applied electronics, tsinghua university, director of the electromagnetic experiment center of tsinghua university, director of eea’s research center for large-capacity power electronics and new power transmission, ieee fellow (fellow of the institute of electrical and electronics engineers), and iet fellow (fellow of british institute of engineering and technology). he’s mainly engaged in the basic theory of large-capacity power electronics conversion system, power electronics technology for energy internet, wireless power transmission technology and so on. he and his team developed the first independent general-purpose power electronics system simulation software dsim, breaking foreign ban on china’s relevant software. at present, it has been applied in more than 200 units in 15 countries around the world. he has published more than 600 academic papers, 8 scientific and technological books, obtained more than 100 domestic and foreign invention patents and more than 30 software 九游会平台 copyrights, won the special gold award of the international exhibition of inventions of geneva, the first prize of the technology invention award of the ministry of education and more than 20 technological achievements awards.
