on the morning of april 13, 2022, the initializing meeting of the project 6.2 “dielectric film material for dry-type dc capacitors” of the national key r&d project “energy storage and smart grid technology” was held at room 3-102, west main building, tsinghua university. the leading unit of this project is tsinghua university, and the project leader is professor dang zhimin, department of electrical engineering and applied electronics, tsinghua university.

the initializing meeting is held in a combination form online and offline. deputy director liu jia and commissioner zhang zhaohua of the industrial development promotion center of the ministry of industry and information technology, vice president li shuiqing, director zhu fuyuan, and director cao lipeng of tsinghua university research institute and professor kang chongqing, dean of eea, attended the meeting. the project expert team is composed of responsible experts and specially invited consultants. the project responsible experts include professorate senior engineer fu mingli of china southern power grid research institute and professorate senior engineer pang huijiao of state grid smart grid research institute, the specially invited advisory experts include academician chen weijiang of state grid corporation of china, academician nan cewen and academician yang wantai of tsinghua university, professor liao ruijin of chongqing university, professor zhang guanjun of xi'an jiaotong university, professor li qingmin of north china electric power university, professor ding lijian of hefei university of technology, professor yin yi of shanghai jiaotong university, professor yan shouke from qingdao university of science and technology, and professor feng lianfang of zhejiang university. the project leader and other core members of the project team all participated in the project initializing meeting.

the purpose of this project kick-off meeting is to ensure the organization and implementation of national key r&d plans, standardize the management of national key r&d plans, and implement the requirements of the party central committee and the state council on promoting the reform of "decentralization, regulation, and service" in the field of science and technology. the meeting focused on discussing and implementing the project research implementation plan and management mechanism, clarifying management requirements, and comprehensively deploying and arranging project research work.

professor kang chongqing, dean of the department of electrical engineering and applied electronics (eea) of tsinghua university, expressed his attention and support for this project. on behalf of eea, he expressed his heartfelt thanks and warm welcome to all the leaders and experts present at the meeting. this project is the only major special project undertaken by eea as the project lead unit in 2021. eea attaches great importance to it and fully supports the project research. liu jia, deputy director of the industrial development promotion center of the ministry of industry and information technology, expressed his expectations for the project team. director liu said that the project aims to solve the key technology of “bottleneck”, which is difficult, important and strategically significant. the center will definitely do a good job in support and service, and make every effort to coordinate and solve various problems in the project research. he wished the project a complete success. li shuiqing, vice president of tsinghua university research institute, expressed his sincere gratitude to all leaders and experts for their long-term support for key r&d projects of tsinghua university, and wished the project team to achieve excellent results and major breakthroughs in the key “bottleneck” technology.

academician nan cewen of tsinghua university presided over the report of the project and subject plan. project leader dang zhimin, project leaders gu xueping, dang zhimin, tu youping, zuo qianglin, zhang bo, etc. reported the project and subject implementation plan in turn. after the reports, many experts from the responsible expert group and the specially invited advisory expert group put forward valuable opinions and suggestions on the risks and problems that may arise during project research. at the end of the meeting, the project leader, professor dang zhimin, expressed his sincere gratitude to the leaders of the industrial development promotion center of the ministry of industry and information technology, responsible experts and advisory experts for their comprehensive and pertinent suggestions for the project, and the support of the leaders of the university’s scientific research institute and eea to the project team. the project team will make every effort to overcome difficulties, have the ability and confidence to overcome all difficulties, complete the established indicators of the project with high quality and quantity, solve the “bottleneck” problem as soon as possible, and finally realize whole-chain localization of dry-type dc capacitors.

the special projects of national key research and development program "energy storage and smart grid technology" are set up to implement the relevant deployment arrangements for national scientific and technological innovation during the “14th five-year plan”, promote china’s energy transformation, and achieve the strategic goals of “carbon peaking” and “carbon neutrality”. the project of “dielectric film material for dry-type dc capacitor” is committed to solving the “bottleneck” problem of the core raw material in the field of film capacitors in china, reach the international advanced level in key material preparation, product design, equipment manufacturing and testing technology; break the foreign technology monopoly to enhance the international core competitiveness of domestic high-voltage flexible dc transmission equipment; cultivate relevant technology research and development teams to promote the development of domestic advanced capacitor technology. with significant potential social and economic benefits, the project will support the technological innovation of localized advanced electrical equipment manufacturing.
