recently, the international council on large electric systems (cigre) announced the result of the cigre thesis award in 2021. up to now, no more than one winner is selected in the world every year. shi bochen, a doctoral student of the department of electrical engineering and applied electronics of tsinghua university, became the first doctoral student of a chinese university to win the award for his doctoral research work " discrete state event-driven (dsed) modeling and simulationfor power electronics hybrid systems", and also the third winner of the award since its establishment in 2018 (2018, 2020 and 2021). shi bochen's doctoral supervisor is professor zhao zhengming of the department of electrical engineering and applied electronics.

shi bochen, male, obtained his bachelor's degree from the department of electrical engineering and applied electronics of tsinghua university in 2017, and is now studying for a doctoral candidate in the department of electrical engineering and applied electronics of tsinghua university under the supervision of professor zhao zhengming. in his doctoral thesis, he proposed piecewise analytical transient modeling and decoupling discrete state event driven simulation methods, which improves the simulation speed of high-capacity power electronic systems by two orders of magnitude, and eliminates the convergence problem of nanosecond switching transient simulation; as the main theoretical support, it formed the first domestic general power electronic simulation software dsim, broke the foreign monopoly and prohibition restrictions in the field of power electronic simulation in china, and is applied in more than 200 units in 12 countries and regions. he has published 18 papers (as the first author in 7 papers and the second author in 2) in ieee tpel, tie, jestpe and other high-level journals at home and abroad, and is granted 14 invention patents, and 5 software 九游会平台 copyrights in the united states and china. he has successively served as chairman of the student union of the department of electrical engineering and applied electronics of tsinghua university, class instructor, chairman of the students' branch of tsinghua university of ieee power electronics society (pels), etc. he has won many awards and honorary titles, such as national scholarship, cai xuansan scholarship, outstanding communist party member of tsinghua university and outstanding graduate of beijing / tsinghua university. as one of the main inventors of dsed modeling and simulation method and dsim power electronics simulation software, he won the "gold medal afj award", the highest award of the 48th geneva international invention exhibition in 2021 (ranking 2/8, the first completer as a student).
