the establishment ceremony of tsinghua-towngas united research center on regional comprehensive energy planning technology was held at room 203, western main building of tsinghua university on dec. 03, 2018, and the first meeting of the united research center management committee was opening at the same time. the aim to establish the center is to give play to the respective advantages of both tsinghua university and towngas china company limited to study such key techniques as regional comprehensive energy planning, multi-energy complement and the comprehensive utilization of gas, and advance the construction of comprehensive energy projects to realize the mutual benefit and win-win results of both parties. prof. kang chongqing who is the head of institute of electrical engineering was appointed as the director of management committee of the center, and mr. qiu jianhang who is senior vice-president of towngas china group and general manager of towngas china energy investment (shenzhen) limited was selected as deputy director of the management committee of the center, and prof. zhao wei who is the executive director of energy internet research institute tsinghua university acts as the director of the center, and the energy internet research institute takes charge of the daily operation of the center.
the establishment ceremony was hosted by prof. zhao wei, the director of the united research center. prof. zeng rong who is the chief of human resources office of tsinghua university attended the meeting and made an address, announcing that tsinghua-towngas regional comprehensive energy planning technology united research center was founded officially, reading out the appointment of the management committee of the center, and expressing great expectations to the united research center.
according to mr. qiu jianhang，there are great prospects in the supply, application and development of comprehensive energy. with the united research center jointly established by towngas and tsinghua university, tsinghua’s advanced achievements in scientific research can be well applied for construction of comprehensive energy systems developed in priority by towngas. by this, both parties can make their respective advantages and realize mutual benefits and common development. he congratulated beforehand that both parties will achieve good cooperative results as soon as possible.
prof. kang chongqing first introduced the general strength of energy discipline of tsinghua university in his address as well as the achievements of research and innovation in regional comprehensive energy field made in recent years, and then he expressed his heartfelt thanks to towngas which was willing to establish the united research center in the regional comprehensive energy planning technology together with tsinghua university, stressing both department of electrical engineering and the center will go all out to carry out their agreements in scientific and technological cooperation reached with towngas.
the first meeting of management committee of the center was hosted by prof. kang chongqing. prof. zhao wei who is the member of the management committee and director of the center presented the draft articles of association of the management committee, and all members of the committee considered the draft articles one by one. they proposed several constructive suggestions, and reached a consensus by discussion to complete the amendments of the draft articles of association. finally, the articles of association of the management committee of the center was formulated officially.
then, research fellow ma junhua, the director of industrial development & standard research office, gave a report on the recent work progress and the proposed future work plan of the united research center to leaders and experts present at the opening ceremony. the concerning personnel of towngas and tsinghua university conducted discussion and exchanges on the work plan of the united research center together with the leaders and experts. they proposed new working assumptions and planning projects, and reached a consensus by analysis and argumentation.
both parties will give full play to the respective advantages with the establishment of united research center on regional comprehensive energy planning technology. by their powerful combination and complementary advantages based on tsinghua’s r&d experience in comprehensive energy planning and towngas’ successful practices in production, operation, service and marketing of energy resources, they can well provide services for the application and construction projects in comprehensive energy planning and technology undertaken by towngas in provinces and cities nationwide, so as positively to promote the china’s comprehensive energy planning and related techniques.
