on june 2, 2018, the 18th delta power electronics seminar sponsored by delta group and hosted by tsinghua university was held at tongli lake view hotel, wujiang, jiangsu province. during this period, more than 400 academicians, experts, teachers and students from more than 10 key power and electronics universities in china and officers from the industry, conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on key technologies and hot topics such as smart grid, electric vehicles and new energy. at the seminar, 12 scientific research projects funded by the delta science and education development program in 2018 were announced, and the honorary title of "delta scholar" was awarded to xiao xi, professor of department of electrical engineering, tsinghua university.
mr. zheng chonghua, founder of delta group, and academician fred lee presented the award certificates to prof. xiao xi
prof. xiao xi has been engaged in the basic theory and key technology research of high performance electric drive for a long time. he has made a series of research achievements in high precision, high dynamic response and high reliability technology of ac motors. the results have been widely used in robots, processing centers and various industrial automation equipments through industrial cooperation, and won four provincial and ministerial awards. typical application cases include: domestic substitution of key technology of multi-axis servo control in multi-joint robots, and beginning to occupy a significant market share; motor-driven high-voltage circuit breaker based on high dynamic response algorithm which fills the gap in the domestic industry, and realizes the successful operation of the first set in china.
since 2000, mr. zheng chonghua, founder of delta group, has set up "delta scholar program" and "delta power electronics science and education development program" in mainland china, with 10 key universities such as tsinghua university, zhejiang university, nanjing university of aeronautics and astronautics, xi'an jiaotong university, huazhong university of science and technology, shanghai university, harbin institute of technology, beijing jiaotong university, shanghai jiaotong university and hefei university of technology. every year, through the open application and selection process, the "delta scholar program" selects a professor who has made outstanding contributions in the field of power electronics and power transmission, awards the title of "delta scholar" and provides three-year special allowances, and selects two "delta young scholars award" and gives a one-time award. so far, 28 "delta scholars", 14 "delta young scholars" and 20 "dada visiting scholars" have been awarded. the "delta power electronics science and education development program" has supported 249 scientific research projects over the years, awarded 1110 excellent postgraduate scholarships and 8 cai xuanshan scholarship doctoral students, and the program has a far-reaching impact in the field of power electronics science and education in china.
