on the afternoon of wednesday, january 3, 2018, prof. jennie si, department of electrical, computer and energy engineering, arizona state university (asu), visited the department of electrical engineering, tsinghua university, and gave an academic report entitled "adaptive dynamic programming for a human-machine symbiotic system". the report was presided over by assistant prof. lu chao, director of the department of electrical engineering. more than 30 teachers and students from the department of electrical engineering, including prof. mei shengwei, assistant prof. xie xiaorong and assistant prof. liu feng, attended the symposium. at the meeting, prof. shi introduced the innovative achievements of adaptive dynamic programming in the application of human prosthesis cooperative control system. the contents of the report aroused wide interest and heated discussion among the participants in the department of electrical engineering.
prof. jennie si is a member and outstanding lecturer of the american association of electrical and electronic engineers (ieee), winner of the nsf/white house presidential professor award. he serves as vice-editor or editor-in-chief of journals such as ieee transactions on semiconductor manufacturing, ieee transactions on automatic control and ieee transactions on neural networks.
