team research directions
the undergraduate research team is named “power system protection”. relay protection is the first line of defense for power safety. china's power grid has formed the world's largest and highest voltage level ac/dc hybrid grid. this team will conduct basic research on key fault analysis methods, detection means, protection principles, etc., for large-scale ac/dc hybrid grids and energy interconnection networks. they will maintain close contact with well-known equipment manufacturing groups such as alstom in the uk, siemens in germany, nari group, and beijing sifang, and break through the key technologies of core fault detection and relay protection, achieving industrialization and internationalization. this will establish china’s leading position in the field of power system protection and lead the development of the international relay protection industry.
the main research directions of the team include:
1. fault analysis of large-scale ac/dc hybrid grids;
2. key technologies for relay protection of new energy grid connection;
3. fault distance measurement and localization of power lines;
4. fault detection and preventive protection of electrical equipment;
5. fault warning and active protection to block the spread of chain faults;
6. system protection for grid security.
