the electrotechnics teaching group is responsible for the teaching of the course electrical engineering and applied electronics in the whole university. this course is a basic technical course for non-electrical majors, with more than 40 classes per semester. teachers in this teaching group have carefully prepared lessons, lectured and tutored, and adopted a series of teaching reform measures. from the course content to the teaching method, they have applied a "research-oriented" teaching mode which can reflect the combination of learning and research. in view of the characteristics of the course, they have adopted distinctive teaching methods, which stimulate students' enthusiasm for learning and achieve excellent teaching results, so that they have been highly influenced by students. the electrotechnics laboratory has been completely upgraded in equipment and experimental devices, and a series of reforms have been carried out in experimental contents. in recent years, many young teachers from other institutes in the department of electrical engineering have joined the electrotechnics teaching group and become the backbone lecturers. in 2004, the teaching group won the second prize for teaching achievement in tsinghua university and the second prize for teaching achievement of beijing in 2005.
the course electrical engineering and applied electronics was listed as the top-quality curriculum construction project of tsinghua university in 2002. in 2003, the course was awarded the top-quality curriculum of beijing. in 2006, tsinghua university officially awarded the title of the top-quality curriculum to the course.
