mehrdad ghandhari is a professor of electric power systems at royal institute of technology(kth), sweden. he is the head of the research group “power system stability and control”. his research interests include: 1) modelling and control of vsc-hvdc transmissions; 2) the dynamic impact of large wind farms on power system stability; 3) on the dynamics and statics of power system operation, optimal utilization of facts devices and management of wind power uncertainty; 4) large scale solar power integration in distribution grids: pv modelling, voltage support and aggregation studies; 5) the impact of multi-terminal hvdc (mtdc) systems on bulk power system stability; 6) design and control of dc transmission systems; 7) design and operation of low-inertia power systems; 8) dynamic security region assessment; 9) real-time estimation of power system inertia; 10) analysis of sub-synchronous oscillations in wind power plants.
