abstract: during the last decade, the penetration of renewable energy, including offshore and onshore wind power, has increased dramatically in order to meet the increasing energy demand and achieve an overall reduction of green house gas emissions. the resulting impact on the security and protection of power systems needs to be addressed. this presentation is concerned with the development of methodologies that incorporate wind generators as an integral part of power systems to assess system security and protection coordination of power systems.
